Dai Davies will explain why GÉANT2 will be very different from its predecessor networks, both in terms of architecture and service. He will examine the drivers behind GÉANT2, consider how the associated research activities will deliver new and enhanced services to users, and examine the potential barriers to success.

Bob Cowles will give an overview of security vulnerabilities and exploits, and of the risks that many of us take every day, possibly without knowing it. He will show examples of phishing email, fake websites, viruses and spyware that may cause you a few sleepless nights.
