Distributed Incident Handling System in Polish Optical Internet Network

PIONIER network currently serves 21 academic Metropolitan Area Networks. Network infrastructure is based on one's own dark fibre links and leased lines from other telecom operators.
At present there are hundreds of thousends of users connected to the PIONIER. Such a big number of users must cause many incidents in the network that also affect other networks.
In 2001 PIONIER-CERT Team has been established to provide effective incident response service to members and users of Polish Scientific Broadband Network PIONIER. The team has developed its own software that helps collecting and managing incidents reports.
