Control Spam by the Use of Greylisting

Lund University has restructured its central systems checking for spam and virus in e-mail. Several tasks were gathered to a new "e-mail gateway" set up to check for invalid destination addresses, spam content and virus content at an early stage. We use a combination of software products, most of them free of charge.
The Greylisting technique showed to be extremely effective in detecting spam. Messages are stopped in such a way that we are not really getting in those unwanted messages. For most users this meant a fantastic 90% decrease in number of spam messages rece
