SPAM Filtering on Huge Mail Servers with j-chkmail

Mail filtering is a hard problem.

Many solutions exist and are very effective for small/medium communities but they aren't allways suitable for servers with an heterougeneous population of many thousand users and many hundred thousand connections a day.

Security is another important issue on huge servers.

Our approach mixes behaviour and content analysis. The first does a coarse filtering and protects the server against attacks. Only a fraction of the trafic is handled by the second, which detects spam undetectable by smtp client behaviour. Filter performance may be improved by cooperation between behaviour and content filtering.
