Introducing Activities in APAN (Asian Pacific Advanced Network)

APAN (Asia Pacific Advanced Network) was established in June 1997. It is a coordinating body among research and education networks in Asia Pacific (AP)region. We have 14 primary members of APAN. This talk covers a brief history and the current activities of APAN. The initial motivation of APAN was to connect AP to the US under the HPIIS project of NSF (US). We have realized TransPAC project which has a successor, TransPAC2. Now, it is time for APAN to think over good connectivity to Europe. We appreciate your suggestions and comments from TERENA.
